Bull Riding

Grayson rode the bull at Gilley's for Jody and Garrett's rehearsal dinner. He was totally into it and didn't want to give anyone else a turn. We let him do it twice and he was sad to leave. We didn't let him go to fast, but it was so cute. What cracked me up the most was Marc coaching him while he was on the bull, like a four year old has any idea of what scooting up on the rope means!!! He just kept smiling and waving wondering what in the world his Daddy was talking about.

SWIM

Gavyn watching Grayson at his first swimming lesson. "Is this what I'm going to do, really?"

Gavyn telling me no, with certainty.

Yep, watching is good with me.

He made it for about 15 minutes before he constantly cried, "Mama, Mama" and he was finished.

The next lesson he just cried from the beginning, so his swim teacher broke up with us:(
Maybe he will be more comfortable towards the end of the summer. I thought since I waited with Grayson to do lessons it would be better to start earlier, clearly I was mistaken.

Neither one of the boys are too excited about getting their faces wet or going under. I'm not pushing to hard on this one since fear is involved. I'm hoping it will just happen as they become more comfortable playing.

TRANSFORMERS

If there is one this this little boy loves, it's TRANSFORMERS! I am constantly finding robot arms, legs and miscellaneous pieces around the house and car. Therefore, we have a lot of meltdowns over lost pieces. There is something magical about taking things apart and putting them back together for little boys. Lucky for us, Play-Doh came out with a Dark of the Moon Autobot Workshop.  It definitely makes him very happy and is keeping him busy...

The Birthday Kid

Today we had a BIRTHDAY KID in our house. As soon as Grayson woke up he wanted to celebrate Bubba's Birthday. Gavyn was nicknamed the "BIRTHDAY KID" all day by Grayson! I can't believe he is already two. I remember the day I brought him home from the hospital. I have the Great Lord above to thank for this baby boy. He brings so much JOY and excitement to our lives. He also has an infectious smile that melts my heart.

Here he is at his 1st Birthday Party in Abilene, it doesn't feel like a year ago. I miss my babies. I love watching them grow and seeing their personalities develop, but I'll never forget holding them in my arms the first time.

We had CARS mini cakes that the boys decorated and opened presents at the house. I think Grayson was more excited than Gavyn. He couldn't hardly stand to wait for Marc to come home to open up gifts.  I asked Gavyn how old he was and he held up 10 fingers, guess we need to work on that. He was really into the whole singing Happy Birthday and blowing out the candles. We did it twice and never stopped hearing the word "AGAIN" until we opened presents.

Awesome news, he's right on track developmentally for two. He even demonstrated it perfectly on his 2nd Birthday, Tantrums of the Terrible Two's. Way to go Gavyn! We love you even when you have a meltdown. I can't wait to see you grow over the next year, I love you Gavyn!

Laughter

A couple of things that made me laugh lately:
I told Grayson to stop licking his lips because they were getting chapped. He responded with, "That's the only way to get the beans off Mom."
Last night they were taking a bath and Grayson was fixing Gavyn's hair. Grayson said, "He looks like Lady GaGa now. The other day my Dad and PaPa were watching Lady GaGa on tv. chuckle,chuckle..."
We go to eat sushi quite a bit when Marc is off and both of the boys know what it is. Grayson will even eat salmon and tuna, but when Gavyn says the word sushi it cracks me up. There is something about a 2 year old saying "chu-chi" that makes me laugh out loud.
Lately, when I ask Grayson to do something he says, "That's not my job, I didn't sign up for that."

Once again, I'm laughing out loud. Sometimes they don't have to say anything, their expressions say it all!

Mommy says I'm Too Little

To ride Grayson's old scooter

I think she might be right
Let me check my knee
Never mind, I'm good
Yep, I'm just fine

3D with Gavyn

We took the boys to see Kung Fu Panda last week in 3D.  Grayson loved it, of course. There aren't many movies he doesn't like. Gavyn on the other hand, was a mess. He's too young to take to the movies, but he feels left out when we leave him behind.  We let him go this time... He was up and down in his chair the entire time, said he needed to pee about 12 times, was more interested in the CARS 2 poster outside, and he spilt his drink all down the front of the both of us. Why are the kids always sitting with Mom when they spill something. I looked like I'd been to war and Marc could get by with wearing the same clothes the next day. I think Gavyn thought we were going to see CARS 2 because all he said during the entire movie, loudly, was "KA-CHOW!" I think he was a little disappointed in the movie choice.

i love summer

Sunshine makes us all happy:)
Watermelon and popsicles make us even happier.

Shadows

I love that kids are so entertained by their own shadows. I can't complain, it's cheap entertainment for them when their toys just aren't doing it for them anymore.

Some days, Gavyn wears himself out and goes to sleep wherever he chooses. This day it happened to be under the coffee table.

We have been trying to stay out of the heat when we aren't at the pool, so we are building a lot of variations from the same Batman toy right now.
